Vimpi Gear Pump gear pumps with internal gearing have a powerful suction capacity (from a depth of 4 meters), provide a uniform supply, which allows you to achieve high pressure indicators, make it possible to pump liquids of different viscosities, both liquid and clean media and heterogeneous high-viscosity ones, provided that there are no solid particles in the suspension, high-temperature media (with a temperature of up to 370 ° C and a viscosity of up to 250,000 cPs) and much more.
The main structural elements (working parts) of the Vimpi gear pumps are an external drive gear (rotor) with
internal gearing and an internal driven gear, which operate on the "gear in gear" principle and a
sickle-shaped separating element. Special attention in pumps of this type is due to the internal gaps between
the gears, which determine the suction, performance and pressure parameters.
If necessary, to prevent unwanted pressure build-up, the Vimpi gear pump is equipped with
special safety valves, and if necessary, the pump unit can be equipped with
heating/cooling jackets on the housing or front cover. Gear pumps Vimpi can be equipped with different types of shaft and pump unit seals,
from gland packing to double mechanical seal, upon customer request. Gear pumps manufactured by Vimpi from WFT
are available in two types of design, which differ in the principle of gear meshing: internal and external.

Fixed performance:
The performance is strictly proportional to the speed of rotation of the drive and does not depend on the pressure created. For one revolution of the rotor, the gear pump moves a regulated amount of liquid, so the final performance can be calculated. However, it should be taken into account that due to the pressure difference before and after the unit, as well as due to different viscosity, there is a small extrusion coefficient.
Self-priming:
Vimpi gear pumps, due to the internal geometry of the gears, create a high level of vacuum in the suction pipe area, which provides good self-priming performance, however, before starting, to ensure self-priming and to prevent damage to the seal, it is recommended to fill the suction pipe with the product being pumped.
Strength and durability:
The use of high-strength cast iron or stainless steel allows us to confidently speak about the high strength of the pump gears. This is also evidenced by the almost complete absence of warranty claims. The outer support rolling bearing provides axial and radial loads.
Low wear rate:
The number of rotor teeth is not a multiple of the number of driven gear teeth, which ensures uniform wear of the tooth surfaces, since each tooth of one gear periodically comes into contact with all the teeth of the other gear. Also, the end wear of the rotor is compensated by an axial adjustment device, which allows to maintain the operating parameters, which remain practically unchanged, even with a high level of wear.
Smooth, non-pulsating flow:
No pressure drops. The gears always rotate at the same speed.
Simple design:
In essence, the unit consists of two rotating elements - a rotor and a driven gear, as well as an axial mechanical or gland seal. These three components are subject to the greatest wear. However, when used for its intended purpose and in compliance with the requirements for operation, replacement of these spare parts will be required no earlier than after 2-3 years of continuous operation.
Reverse:
Due to their design, gear pumps have the ability to pump products in both directions while maintaining all operating characteristics. To do this, it is enough to change the direction of rotation of the drive..
Interchangeability:
The gear pump has a modular design, which allows the replacement of internal parts with different characteristics or materials. For example, different types of axial mechanical seals can be used, standard housings and covers can be replaced with parts of similar size but with a heating jacket or bypass, etc.
Changes in the position of the pipes:
By means of rotating the housing on the stand, it is possible to change the location of the pressure and suction pipes relative to the axis of rotation, the angle of change is 45° and 90°.
Safety valve (bypass).
A safety valve (return valve, bypass) can be installed on the gear pump housing and can be easily adjusted. This valve can be made with a heating jacket or double if necessary.
Flexibility:
Vimpi gear pumps have the ability to axially adjust the rotor position, which allows the pumping of liquids of different viscosities with the same unit. The pump unit successfully handles the movement of products with a viscosity lower than water, as well as products with high viscosity, such as: vegetable oils, fats, molasses, chocolate, resins, polymers, bitumens and much more.
Heating/cooling jacket.
The gear pump can be made in 4 different heating/cooling jacket options:
These are standard options that are always available. In stock at the manufacturer's factory, other special options are possible to order.
Simple and convenient maintenance:
Internal inspection and adjustment of the gears can be carried out without removing the gear pump from its installation site. Simply unscrew the outer cover, which will provide full inspection and access.
